Why Amniotic Tissue?
Amniotic membrane has been used clinically as a wound covering for over 110 years with more than 100 publications to date describing the various potential benefits.1 Amniotic membrane contains essential growth factors and provides a natural human tissue scaffold that may provide a wide range of advantages as a covering according to published literature. Amniotic membranes are widely used as a biologic covering in a multitude of surgical and wound applications. The lightweight, thin and elastic handling properties of amniotic tissue make it an ideal treatment option for the surface of the eye.2
