Job Overview
SMCG is looking for a Senior Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. Your role will be to analyze and improve billing practices for our clients, implementing best practices to ensure maximum collections. The position offers hybrid work arrangements in North Houston.
Key Requirements
- Required Certification: Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
- Experience: 5-7 years minimum in medical billing
- Location: Must be based in North Houston area
- Work Type: Hybrid (office presence required when needed)
- Compensation: $26-28 per hour
- Preferred: Experience in physical therapy billing
Core Responsibilities
- Conduct billing audits and assessments with executive-level reporting
- Ensure accurate code assignment and sequencing per regulations
- Maintain compliance with medical coding guidelines
- Process claims and manage denials within 24-hour turnaround
- Handle patient communications and insurance correspondence
- Generate and analyze monthly performance reports
- Maximize reimbursement while maintaining compliance
